With the summer heat and humidity, it can be a challenge to keep your makeup looking fresh and flawless especially when you are spending most of your summer outdoor or travelling.
Aside from that, you might be attending several wedding or summer soirees with family and friends.
Do you wonder how you can prolong your makeup in the heat?
With a few expert tips and tricks, you can summer-proof your makeup and ensure it stays in place all day long. From choosing the right products to setting techniques, we've got you covered. Say goodbye to smudged eyeliner and melted foundation, and hello to a summer-ready makeup look that lasts.
Use Lightweight and Oil-free Face Makeup
When it comes to summer-proofing your makeup, using lightweight and long-lasting formulas is key. Opt for oil-free foundations and tinted moisturizers that won't feel heavy on your skin and won't melt off in the heat. Look for products that are specifically designed to be long-lasting and sweat-proof, so they stay put even on the hottest days.
If possible, look for a bismuth-free loose mineral foundation. In my opinion, it is be the most comfortable face makeup you can have especially on hot summer days.
Choose Waterproof and Smudgeproof Eyeliners and Mascaras
This is crucial as summer heat will melt you eye makeup especially eyeliner and mascara, leaving you looking all smudged or with raccoon eyes. By choosing the right formulas, you can ensure that your makeup stays fresh and flawless throughout the summer months.
And if you ever need to spritz some water to cool yourself down at a picnic, you know your eye makeup will not run on you.
Keep Your Skin Fresh
As a professional, I can never say this enough. Use a blotting paper. This is an absolute game changer. It quickly and yet gently lift oil and sweat off your face. It is indeed the quickest way to keep you makeup looking clean and fresh.
Another one of my must have is this kabuki brush! A good makeup brush distribute liquid or powder form makeup evenly. The best part of it all, you only need very little product. That's because, a well designed kabuki brush does not absorb all your product into the base of the brush. As a result, you will only use very little product each time.
Here is a list of my summer must have!
- a good sunscreen that is not greasy
- bismuth free loose mineral foundation
- 24 hr smudgeproof eyeliners
- 24 hr brow makeup
- 24 hr mascara
- Blotting paper

Have an amazing adventure this summer!
