Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and you want to look your best. But with all the dancing, hugging, and kissing, your makeup can easily smudge or fade. That's why it's important to choose the right products and techniques to ensure your bridal makeup stays put all day and night especially if you are not planning to hire a professional makeup artist. Here are some expert tips to help you achieve a flawless, long-lasting look on your big day.
Choose long-wearing, waterproof products.
When it comes to wedding makeup, choosing the right products is key. Look for long-wearing, waterproof formulas that will stay put through tears, sweat, and kisses. Opt for a long-lasting foundation, waterproof mascara, and a smudge-proof eyeliner. By choosing the right products, you can ensure your bridal makeup stays flawless all day and night.
Test your new makeup before your big day
My rule of thumb for new concealers and foundation is that they need to feel really comfortable for hours on my skin. By this I mean, it literally should feel like I am not even wearing makeup. Can you imagine feeling super heavy and greasy on your wedding day?
Next, be sure you take your new eye makeup for a test drive to see how long it would last you. I suggest applying your makeup early in the morning and see how it wears throughout the day. I remind my brides to make sure it is tear proof so perhaps a sappy movie night?
Depending on the look you are going for, choose a lip colour that does not fade or feather. Have your maid of honour or bridesmaids carry an extra lip colour and blotting paper for quick touch-up throughout the day.
