Inspired by the timeless beauty and elegance of Geishas and Japanese style, our latest photoshoot has created truly stunning photos that draw you right in.

Check out all the beautiful images on our social media channels of these three stunning models from our latest Geisha-themed photoshoot from Amaterasu Beauty

Our team came together to capture the graceful and refined aesthetic of Geishas, amplified by the bold confidence and sophisticated style of our models.

There is more to discover beyond the camera about our three beautiful models who perfectly embodied everything that Amaterasu stands for at our latest photoshoot. Continue reading to learn more about life and future aspirations with Claire, Shamsia, and Anna!

Sara: What is your favourite Amaterasu makeup product and why?

Claire: I don’t think I can just pick one! I literally use the Liquid Brow Liner and Silk Goddess Mascara every time I do my makeup! They're so amazing and complement my makeup routine perfectly.

Shamsia: My favorite product is the Liquid Eyeliner in both Espresso and Black. I have never used an eyeliner that created such a sharp, precise wing before. It makes me feel powerful and beautiful at my meetings and presentations at work and school.

Anna: I absolutely cannot live without the Massive Length Mascara. It elongates and adds so much volume to my lashes which completely revolutionized my eye makeup routine. I don’t think I can ever go back to a different mascara after trying the Massive Length.

Sara: All of you are currently studying at the University of British Columbia here in Vancouver. What is your major and academic year?

Claire: I am a fourth-year student at the UBC Sauder School of Business majoring in marketing.

Shamsia: I am currently in my third year at school and I am pursuing a major in International Relations focusing on security, specifically Afghanistan which is my home country.

Anna: I am in my third year here at UBC and I am majoring in political science with a minor in economics. I am also in the Sauder Master of Management program!

Sara: What do you hope to pursue after you have graduated from UBC and why? Do you have any specific career goals you are working towards?

Claire: As my business major is marketing, I would love to work in fashion or sports marketing one day as my career. I have grown up playing and watching sports for my whole life and sew as a hobby, so a career in either field would be a dream come true for me!

Shamsia: After I complete my undergraduate degree, it is my dream to start a business or charity that is centered on female empowerment and providing opportunities for newly immigrated women to support themselves and their families.

Anna: I hope to pursue further studies in the field of resource curse economics! Specifically, I am interested in studying how Canada can gain further streams of revenue and create more labour opportunities by establishing second and tertiary industries for our most abundant commodities.

Sara: At Amaterasu, we are huge on giving back to the community. What is your current favorite charity or a memorable volunteer experience you would like to share with others and why?

Claire: I have always been passionate about community service and have been in various leadership roles since I was twelve years old! I started volunteering in the Me to We club in grade six and I am currently the chair of Sauder Graduation Night. I find giving back to my community an extremely rewarding experience and plan to continue to participate in it for as long as possible!

Shamia: I am currently working on a nonprofit business project with my sister at entrepreneurship@UBC that is centered around supporting women who are feeling the Taliban in Afghanistan and looking for additional revenue streams to support their families in this time of crisis. Our project will help women to find work in the dried fruit industry to help them find financial and employment stability. We are launching our nonprofit in the new year!

Anna: My sorority and I run a fundraiser every Autumn for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). This charity funds court-appointed volunteers that advocate for childrens’ best interests in the legal setting. The volunteers work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators and service providers to ensure that judges have all the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child who has undergone abuse and neglect, often in the foster care system.

Sara: What is one fun fact you would like our followers to know about you?

Claire: I really enjoy watching sports and playing with my friends at UBC and family!

Shamsia: I truly enjoy traveling and seeing different places around the world! One of my favorite things about traveling is meeting new people with different experiences and perspectives.

Anna: I really enjoy trying different foods from all around the world! Sara has recently introduced me to dim sum. :)

It was an absolutely wonderful experience getting to work with and laugh with these beautiful women and we hope that you enjoyed getting to know them as much as we did! A huge thanks to Claire, Shamsia, and Anna for taking the time to tell us about their hopes, goals, and aspirations.
