Waterline Eyeliner FAQ's

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What is the waterline of the eye?

  1. Waterline is a beauty term used to describe the line on the outside of the eye that is permanently watery. Waterlines are the flesh or lines of skin between your eyelashes and your eye.

Q. Is eyeliner safe to use on your waterline?

  1. The waterline area of your eye is extremely sensitive, so it is not surprising that applying eyeliner so close to your eyes could irritate them. But this will only happen if you are using the wrong type of eyeliner. The good news is there are great eyeliner formulas that can be used safely on your waterline. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't still be cautious while applying your makeup, but if you're using a quality brand, eyeliner is perfectly safe for your waterline.

Q. What does eyeliner do on the waterline?

  1. Applying eyeliner to your waterline can be a gamechanger. Using eyeliner on your lower waterline will give you a smouldering, exotic look while making your eyes appear more mysterious. Lining the lower lashline will create an illusion of larger eyes and by lining your upper waterline, aka tightlining, you can create the impression of bigger and fuller lashes.

Q. How do you apply eyeliner on the waterline?

  1. Using your ring finger, gently expose your waterline. Next, use a cotton swab to wipe away any extra moisture around your waterline so your eyeliner won't run. Finally, glide your eyeliner on the exposed area, continuously applying it until you reach the desired intensity.

Q. How do you remove eyeliner from the waterline?

  1. Since the eyeliner is so close to your eyes, you will need to use a gentle makeup remover. An oil-based cleanser is effective at removing makeup without rinsing or rubbing. Using a cotton pad, saturate it with the cleanser and gently wipe over the eye makeup with the pad.

Q. What type of eyeliner is best for the waterline?

  1. Wondering which is the best eyeliner for your waterline? Look no further than Amaterasu Beauty. If you want to apply colour to an area of your eye that is perpetually wet, using the Amaterasu stay-all-day eye pencil is an absolute must. Our satiny waterproof and tear-proof formula promises not to budge for 24 hours, making it perfect to use on your waterline.
